"The gate of the soul will be flung wide open once complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit are attained".
If you are new to Reiki, welcome to the Reiki Way! If you are already familiar with Reiki, welcome to my practice and I hope we may connect in some way soon to talk about the wonders of Reiki.
I love to talk about Reiki and to discuss the many ways that it works to bring healing to all aspects of our lives.
What Is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese form of energy healing. It is used for stress reduction and supports healing of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of self. A Reiki treatment creates deep relaxation and allows the body and mind to be restored in a deep and profound way. Reiki balances the "mind, body, and spirit" so that stress is released and the body is allowed to seek return to it's natural state of balance and health. Reiki complements all other forms of healing, especially Western medicine.
Reiki Supports the Healing of Emotional Concerns Such As:
Stress and Anxiety
Symptoms of Grief
Weight and Eating Concerns
Reiki Supports Physical Healing :
Strengthening of the Immune System
Hormonal Issues Throughout the Lifespan (PMS, Menopause, Pregnancy and Postpartum)
All manner of physical illnesses
Reiki treats the whole person. We are not "pieces" of a whole that can be separated or compartmentalized. Reiki energy recognizes this and works to heal the phsyical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being. Sometimes we must go to a doctor for specialized treatment and healing, but it is important to remember and honor the whole. Reiki helps us do this and is complementary to all western treatments.
How Does Reiki Feel?
Reiki is wonderful and must be experienced to be fully understood. I compare it to trying to describe the beauty and comfort of a warm fire to someone who has never experienced fire in any way. Perhaps you might describe it in a scientific manner (a reaction between hydrogen and oxygen), describe the way it looks, or you might even try to describe the unique heat and comfort that is generated by a living flame. How could you really explain the warmth of fire to someone who has never felt it for themselves? The experience of Reiki is much the same. Reiki is a sensation and an experience, often unique for each person depending on their needs. It is always positive and can do no harm because it is directed by Universal Love, or in my experience, by God.
Most people report that Reiki feels like warmth, light, or gentle tingling. Others say it feels deeply relaxing. Some people just go to sleep on the table and wake up feeling refreshed! Whatever the experience, Reiki is at work during a treatment and is working to heal the recipient for their highest good. Most people report a reduction in symptoms of pain, stress, or anxiety. Some people experience visual imagery, thought impressions, or physical sensations that are unique to their situation or needs.
What is a Treatment Session Like?
A Reiki treatment lasts between 1 and 1 1/2 hours. I offer clients time for verbal discussion of concerns and experiences both before and after a session. I also offer simple art and writing supplies following a session to assist clients with processing their experience as needed. During a session, the client remians fully clothed and simply reclines confortably on a treatment table or chair. Reiki is given through the hands of the practitioner either by placing the hands on or just above the client's body. Direct touch is not actually necessary. A Reiki treatment is gentle overall and often creates a deep sense of inner calm and well-being.
Reiki has a wisdom of its own and is allowed to flow through the practitioner. I do not direct the Reiki energy, but simply remain centered and focused so as to allow the energy to fully flow into the client for perfect healing.
